I WISH A CHANGE OF TENANCY. I NEED HELP! 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

First, we wish to congratulate you on moving into your new business address. 

 

Your landlord or letting agent will have provided you with a lease or a tenancy agreement, and nothing much else.

NSG Energy can step in at this stage to help your business.

 

New Businesses: We recommend you read carefully through your new lease/tenancy agreement; and locate the clause about utilities and who is liable for these costs. Once you have found this information, please get back in touch. 

 

Experienced Businesses: A Supplier will require proof that you are a legitimate business due to FCA rules. For verification, they will require 'moving in' documents (shown below), a copy/photo of your latest meter reading, and the date you moved in. If you have details of the former tenant 'moving out,' this would help our administration.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW? 

 

We will need to know:

 

  • Details of your preferred supplier(s)

  • Details of your preferred term (or length) of contract

  • Details of how you wish to make payment (i.e. payment on receipt, direct debit mandate, etc.,)

  • Details of any quotations you have received from a supplier or third-party consultant

 

From our experience, we often suggest a one-year fixed term, unless you are happy to align your tenancy or lease term with your energy contract(s).

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT? 

 

We would look to provide a quotation within 24 hours, by our digital services: a text message, a WhatsApp message, or an email. It can take a supplier up to 14 days to process and validate the Change of Tenancy request. 

CHANGE OF TENANCY PROCESS?

As a responsible company, we recommend you fully complete and return the Change of Tenancy (COT) form, and it is signed by an authorized person. If you only need assistance with the COT form process, we will charge a flat fee of £50.00 for our administration.

We will provide your business contracts and a Letter of Authority (click here) by email; you can either sign* for these documents in blank ink, or use your own digital signature (via DocuSign).
